Backcountry Etiquette: Please no walking or snowshoeing in the uphill ski tracks.  Snowshoes and boot tracks create holes in which ski tips get caught, making travel difficult and frustrating to say the least. If you hear someone yelling, take the time to see if they are in need of help or just having a good time.  It could be you in need!

Avalanche risks ALWAYS exist while traveling in the backcountry during the winter months. It is up to each hut user to determine his/her personal safety. Click here for information on avalanches and winter backcountry travel.
